ServiceSource Hosts 1st Annual Executive Summit to Discuss Industry Best Practices for Maximizing Maintenance & Support Revenue

Theme of Inaugural Event is Analyzing Business From a 360 Degree Perspective

October 11, 2005: ServiceSource, an outsource sales organization focused exclusively on maximizing support and maintenance revenue for technology companies, today announced their First Annual Executive Summit to take place at the Ritz-Carlton in Half Moon Bay, California beginning Monday, October 17th and ending Wednesday, October 19th. The theme of ServiceSource's Executive Summit is Maintenance 360° and the event is invitation-only for ServiceSource clients.

The ServiceSource Executive Summit will address a series of best practices topics such as leveraging maintenance renewal sales to deepen customer relationships; maximizing service revenue in the channel; coordinating corporate sales and service sales strategies; and building world-class reporting. ServiceXRG, a research firm based in Wellesley, Massachusetts that specializes in helping companies develop and execute service and support strategies, will deliver an exclusive presentation on October 18th entitled Maximizing Support and Maintenance Revenue. "Summit attendees will be privy to new research findings, analytical data points, and learn first-hand how to develop a renewal performance scorecard," said ServiceXRG principal and co-founder, Ladd Bodem. "We are thrilled to share our industry findings and performance benchmarks with such an impressive group of companies and participants."

"In our annual satisfaction survey, our clients informed us there were no specific industry events tailored to the day-to-day challenges and responsibilities of service executives. We knew that ServiceSource could create a unique forum to network with peers and to draw best practices from a large base of industry expertise," said Mike Smerklo, CEO of ServiceSource. "We decided to launch the ServiceSource Executive Summit as an exclusive conference with proprietary content that is both critically important for our top-level clients."

The ServiceSource Executive Summit will feature over 25 executives from the following companies:

  • Agile Software
  • Alcatel
  • Aspen Technology, Inc.
  • BEA systems
  • BMC Software, Inc.
  • Borland
  • Network General
  • Quantum
  • Sun Microsystems, Inc.
  • Tandberg

In June 2005, ServiceSource announced $10M in funding from Silicon Valley-based Benchmark Capital and joins the premier venture capital firm's prestigious list of successful portfolio companies, which includes eBay (Nasdaq: EBAY), Juniper Networks (Nasdaq: JNPR), and Red Hat (Nasdaq: RHAT).
