SAN FRANCISCO-BASED SERVICESOURCE OPENS NASHVILLE SERVICE CENTER TO SERVE HIGH-TECH CUSTOMERS

January 17th 2008, San Francisco, CA

Smerklo said the company will initially employ 125 people in Nashville, a mix of new hires and existing employees making the move from ServiceSource facilities in San Francisco, Denver and Dublin, Ireland. The majority of the jobs in the Nashville center will focus on sales and client care.

"We looked all over the country for the best possible location for our new service center, and for many reasons Nashville was the clear choice," said Smerklo. "The quality of the workforce, the cost and ease of doing business, the central location and the area's emerging high-tech presence here all played major roles in our decision."

Nashville Mayor Karl Dean said ServiceSource's decision to locate its operations center in Nashville is a testament to the region's workforce.

"ServiceSource considered 11 cities in North America before deciding that Nashville was the place they had to be," Dean said. "I know that the ability to hire a great pool of young, talented technology workers was a key driver in their decision, and we couldn't be happier to welcome the company to Middle Tennessee."

Tennessee Gov. Phil Bredesen and state Economic and Community Development Commissioner Matt Kisber said today's announcement is evidence of the work done at the local and state levels to ensure that Tennessee's business climate appeals to a diverse range of employers.

"We have done a great job in our state to improve the business climate to be very competitive," said Bredesen. "It's gratifying to see those efforts pay off as more top-quality companies realize their potential for success in Tennessee. I'm pleased to welcome ServiceSource's new operations center to Nashville."

"ServiceSource's decision to open its largest operations center in Tennessee is a great example of successful collaboration between the state and local communities," said Kisber. "The jobs created by this announcement represent the types of highly skilled, good-paying positions Governor Bredesen and I believe are essential to Tennessee's continued economic progress. We're grateful to ServiceSource for the company's investment in the people of Tennessee."

"This announcement presents great opportunities for both ServiceSource and Nashville-area communities," said TVA Senior Vice President of Economic Development John Bradley. We are glad to partner with the Nashville Area Chamber, state, county and city leaders, and area providers, such as Nashville Electric Service, to provide quality services to ServiceSource in the years to come."

"Given that the best cities in America chased ServiceSource's expansion, it is a testament to the hard work of the mayor's office, our Chamber's economic development team, and the quality of life in Nashville that we continue to enjoy positive job growth in our region," said Rob Lowe, a principal with Colliers Turley Martin Tucker. "On behalf of our joint venture partner, Sterling American Properties, the ownership of Commerce Center East is proud to welcome ServiceSource to Davidson County."

Matt Largen, director of business recruitment for the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce, said ServiceSource's decision to locate the center here reflects positively on Nashville's reputation as a hot city for business relocations and expansions.

"Nashville appeals to a diverse range of companies, and ServiceSource is a great example of that," said Largen. "When a successful company in the high-tech industry headquartered in San Francisco decides to open its largest service center in Nashville, it makes a powerful statement that our region has the vital combination of a highly skilled pool of workers and a low cost of doing business."
